# Admirals Atlas

> Admirals Atlas is an English-language maritime reference service for ports, shipping terminology, companies, ships, and maritime practice. It is reference material, not operational, navigational, safety, legal, or compliance advice.

Use the canonical page for citations. Record-level Markdown alternatives are available by appending `index.md` to public port, company, ship, and editorial-entry URLs. These alternatives omit site navigation and browser-only maps while retaining the article, structured facts, related records, and listed sources.

Port data has varying evidence levels. A World Port Index characteristic, an authority-approved UN/LOCODE port claim, and an unverified claim are not equivalent. Unverified claims are deliberately excluded from the public agent-readable record surface. Live depths, restrictions, schedules, ownership, and commercial status must be confirmed with the responsible authority.
