Container/ro-ro cargo ship
A container/ro-ro cargo ship combines two cargo arrangements: space for freight containers and separate decks for cargo moved on and off on wheels. The ro-ro section uses vehicle access such as a ramp; the container section handles containerized freight.
The two functions use separate cargo spaces. This makes the design more specific than either a container ship or ro-ro ship alone. The label describes the vessel’s cargo arrangement, not its current mix of cargo.
